1. Overview

These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern the organization and conduct of the DataKids Award (“Award”).
The Award is organized and administered by Data2Speak Inc. (“Organizer”), a company incorporated and existing under the laws of the United States.
By submitting an entry, the participant’s parent or legal guardian (“Parent”) agrees to these Rules in their entirety.


2. Definitions

Nomination 1 – Drawing:
A category where participants create an artistic piece using any traditional materials such as pencils, markers, pens, paints, pastels, crayons, or other art tools on any type of paper.

Nomination 2 – Digital Art:
A category where participants create artwork exclusively using a tablet, computer, or mobile device in any digital illustration software (e.g., Procreate, Photoshop, Krita, Paint Tool SAI, ibisPaint, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, etc.).
Combination of traditional and digital techniques is not permitted.

Nomination 3 – Craft:
A category where participants create a physical object using any materials — clay, paper, cardboard, LEGO or other construction toys, wooden or plastic blocks, fabric, thread, natural materials, candy, etc.
Size is unrestricted. Use of pens or markers for labels and titles is allowed.
Participant: A natural person between the ages of 6 and 11, who personally completes the Award entry in accordance with these Rules and whose Parent submits the entry.

Age Categories:
  • 6–7 years
  • 8–9 years
  • 10–11 years
Employees of the Organizer and their family members are not eligible to participate.

Award Committee:
A panel of independent experts appointed by the Organizer to evaluate entries.
Finalist: A Participant selected by the Committee to advance to the final round.
Winner(s): Participants awarded first, second, or third place within each nomination and age category.


3. Purpose of the Award

The Award aims to:
  • develop data literacy among children aged 6–11; and
  • inspire creativity in data visualization and storytelling.

5. Schedule and Format

Award Period: October–November 2025 (exact dates subject to change).
The Organizer reserves the right to modify or adjust the schedule, including registration, submission, selection, and award stages, at its sole discretion.

6. Eligibility and Entry Requirements

  1. Parents register Participants using the online form on the Award website.
  2. Submitting an entry constitutes the Parent’s full consent for the child to participate.
  3. By registering, Parents consent to the collection and processing of personal data for the purposes of the Award, including publication of the Participant’s name and work on the Organizer’s website, media, and social networks.
  4. Entries that appear to have been created by adults or third parties will be disqualified.
  5. All works must be original and created entirely by the Participant. Use of copyrighted materials, templates, or plagiarism will result in disqualification.
  6. Entries must not contain:
  • scenes of violence, cruelty, or blood;
  • references to or depictions of suicide, drugs, or illegal activities;
  • materials that promote aggression, hostility, or discrimination;
  • imagery or text that violates any applicable U.S. law.
The Organizer and the Award Committee may reject any entry they deem inconsistent with the educational goals or potentially harmful to children.


7. Evaluation Criteria

All entries must relate directly to data, charts, and information visualization, including at least one of the following:
  • numerical or factual data;
  • graphs, charts, or tables;
  • visual elements that help interpret data (such as maps, infographics, diagrams, or labeled figures);
  • any creative representation of information where data “comes alive” through drawing, craft, or digital work.
Entries unrelated to data visualization will not be considered.
Additional evaluation criteria include:
  • originality of idea;
  • artistic and technical quality;
  • alignment with the chosen nomination;
  • ability to illustrate the theme of data and visualization.


8. Intellectual Property Rights

  • Participants retain all intellectual property rights to their works.
  • By submitting an entry, the Parent grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display the work for purposes related to the Award — including publication on the Organizer’s website, social media, and press materials.
  • Works will not be used for resale or commercial profit.

9. Prizes

Three prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) are awarded in each nomination and age group.
Prizes may include physical items, certificates, or other awards provided by sponsors.
The Organizer reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at its sole discretion.


10. Prize Delivery

Prizes may be delivered electronically or physically to the address provided by the Parent.
The Organizer determines the method of delivery.
Winners are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.


11. Liability Disclaimer

  • The Organizer is not responsible for technical malfunctions, internet outages, third-party website errors, or delays in prize delivery caused by postal or courier services.
  • The Organizer is not responsible for lost, damaged, or incomplete entries or for any consequences resulting from improper use of prizes.
  • The Organizer is not responsible for inaccurate or false information submitted by Participants or Parents.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who violates these Rules.
  • The Organizer may modify the Award terms, deadlines, jury composition, or other details by posting updated information on the Award website.


12. Award Committee

The Committee is composed of independent experts appointed by the Organizer.
The Organizer may change the composition of the jury without notice.
All decisions of the Committee are final and binding.


13. Personal Data and Privacy

  1. Personal information is collected solely for the administration of the Award, selection of winners, and delivery of prizes.
  2. The Organizer guarantees that personal information will not be sold or used for unrelated purposes.
  3. Data is stored securely and processed in accordance with U.S. privacy law, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  4. Parents may contact the Organizer at any time to request deletion of their child’s data.


14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Rules are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising from this Award shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation; if unresolved, they will be submitted to the competent courts of St. Petersburg, Florida. 


15. Miscellaneous
  • The Organizer may cancel, suspend, or modify the Award at any time for reasons beyond its control.
  • Participation in the Award does not create any employment or contractual relationship between the Organizer and the Participant or Parent.
  • Void where prohibited by law.
